Dear friends and family,
We are very excited to see you all, and to celebrate our marriage very soon!

Our Story

Whilst working in the same small hospital in August 2019, we quickly became friends. With a little nudge from some friends, we started to enjoy an increasing amount of time together as a two. By January 2020, Chris was no longer planning to move to New Zealand and we have been sharing life together ever since.

Over the past few years, we have supported each other through the pandemic, various exams and marathons. We have enjoyed many adventures close to home, memorable trips away and cherished each other's company on all the less eventful days in-between.

In August 2021 we left our Edinburgh flats and moved to the Scottish Borders together. Initially planning to stay for one-year, we quickly embraced the outdoor lifestyle and friendly atmosphere. We have since made the easy decision to settle in the Scottish Borders where we are training to become GPs and hoping to find our future home in Peebles soon.

Whilst on holiday in the Highlands, we had the idea to take some time off work together the following year. In October 2022, after an amazing trip cycling from Innerleithen to Athens, we returned even better pals than ever. In January 2023, after sharing some cakes on our favourite forest walk close to home, Chris got down on one knee…

Having now returned from another wonderful cycle tour, wedding planning is well underway and we can't wait to welcome you to the beautiful Scottish Borders to celebrate our marriage together.

Travel

Travelling to Peebles

By Air

The closest airport is Edinburgh Airport. To travel from Edinburgh Airport to Peebles, we recommend taking the tram that leaves from right outside the airport to the 'St Andrew Square' stop in Edinburgh city centre.

From this stop, cross over to Edinburgh Bus Station just across the road and take the X62 that departs approximately every thirty minutes to Peebles. Further information, including timetables, are available here:

Alternatively, car hire is available at Edinburgh Airport. The drive to Peebles takes approximately one hour.

By Rail

Peebles does not have a train station. To travel by rail, please look at trains to Edinburgh (Waverley) and then the ScotRail service from Edinburgh (Waverley) to Galashiels. The X62 bus connects Galashiels to Peebles.

An alternative option would be to take the X62 bus from Edinburgh city centre to Peebles. Further information, including timetables, are available here:

Alternatively, there are a small number of car hire companies based at or near Waverley Train Station.

By Road

Peebles is easily accessible by a scenic drive through the Scottish Borders.

Car parking

St JOSEPH'S RC CHURCH, 17 Rosetta Road, Peebles, EH45 8JU

There are limited car parking spaces at St Joseph's Church. We have contacted our guests for whom one of these spaces has been reserved. If we haven't contacted you, we hope that Chris' handy map may help you find a place to park nearby. Please car share if possible.

If you can, please help us by parking in the residential streets close by. We would suggest March Street, Rosetta Road or Kirkland Street, but please avoid Wemyss Place. The local streets are unrestricted but often busy so please leave plenty of time to park.

PEEBLES HYDRO HOTEL, Innerleithen Rd, Peebles, EH45 8LX

There is car parking at Peebles Hydro Hotel. Please help by parking in the car parks down the hill rather than immediately outside the hotel as spaces here are limited. There is overflow parking on the right-side of the private road that approaches the hotel.

We would strongly encourage car sharing between the church and hotel. If preferred, you may park at Peebles Hydro Hotel and St Joseph's RC Church is a twenty-minute walk.

How do I RSVP?

RSVP is now closed. If you need to make any changes, please contact us.

Chris: 07429510663

Catherine 07981779220

What is the dress code?

Semi-formal. Don't forget your dancing shoes!

Can I bring my children?

Yes! The only thing we would ask is for wriggly children to sit closer to the door during our wedding service. We have made arrangements to ensure babies and children have a quiet and private space during the reception if needed.

Can I bring a plus one?

Everyone invited to the wedding will have their name on the invitation. If you have any questions about this, please contact us.

Can I bring my pet?

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate pets at the wedding.

Are the venues accessible?

Yes. The church is on one-level and the hotel is well set up with a lift and accessible bedrooms, bathrooms and seating where needed.

What will we be eating?

We are currently looking forward to our menu tasting session! Following this, we will contact you with meal options.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

We are planning the day expecting Scottish weather so the wedding service and reception will be indoors. If it is a lovely day, the drinks reception may be outdoors.

Please remember to pack your umbrellas, just incase!

What is a ceilidh?

A ceilidh is a popular form of Scottish entertainment that involves dancing to traditional folk music. A 'caller' will guide us through each dance. Everyone is encouraged to dance - no previous experience required, and you are guaranteed to have fun!

Can I take photos or a video?

We ask that phones and cameras are turned off during the church service but otherwise feel free to use them. Our fantastic photographers will also capture the day - and these will be shared online after the date for you to enjoy.

Will there be further updates?

We will be sending an email out around eight weeks before our wedding with important information. While we won't be sending further information by post, please let us know any changes to your address.

I'm still not sure about something. What shall I do?

Please, just ask. Our contact information is as follows:
